Notes: From the Revolutionary War pension application # S41408, we know that William Allgood enlisted in Virginia, the place not shown, on 11 November 1776, for three years in Capt.Isaac Hicks' Company, Col. Screveb's Georgia Regiment; his service extended through September 1, 1781. He was allowed a pension of $8.00 per month on application executed on February 13,1828, at which time he was 67 years old and a resident of Surry Co., N. C. In 1828, his wife and four daughters were living with him; their names are not given and no other family information is found in the papers on this claim. On 23 September 1933 the Old North State Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Winston Salem, North Carolina place a large stone and marker at the grave site of William at the Allgood Cemetery on Old Stage Coach Road in Yadkin County.
