    Melvin Rudolphi, 86, of Olney, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at his residence.

    Mr. Rudolphi was born January 21, 1926, in Clay County, the son of John Frank and Bertha Clara (Weber) Rudolphi.

    He married Helen Klingler on March 30, 1948, in Wendelin. She survives.

    He was a retired farmer and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of American Legion.

    Mr. Rudolphi is survived by his wife, Helen Rudolphi; son, Reverend Stephen Rudolphi; son, Kenneth Rudolphi and wife Therese; daughter, Barbara Miller and husband Jack; daughter, Patricia Matthes and husband Jim; son, Raymond Rudolphi; son, Gregory Rudolphi and wife Sheila; son, Christopher Rudolphi and wife Mary; son, Mark Rudolphi and wife Maria; son, Wayne Rudolphi and wife Ann; son, Doug Rudolphi and wife Connie; daughter, Ann Bryan and husband Gale; daughter, Mary Rudolphi; sisters, Dorothy Uebinger and Marilyn Wheaton; brothers, Herman Rudolphi and Richard Rudolphi; 32 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Andrew "Andy" James Rudolphi, brother, Raymond, sister, Louise, and grandchildren, William and Rachel.

    Herman John Rudolphi 84, of Noble passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Burgin Manor in Olney, IL.

    He was born on November 3, 1932 in Clay County, the son of John and Bertha (Weber) Rudolphi.

    He married Joan M. Klingler on May 17, 1955 at Holy Cross Church in Wendelin, IL.

    Herman worked as a farmer for many years. He worked on the farm to provide for his family. Herman enjoyed and worked many hours in his woodworking shop making many wood toys for all his children and grandchildren. He was a proud veteran of the US Army during the Korean War and was a proud member of the American Legion, VFW for 50 years, Eagles Lodge and Knights of Columbus. He was a faithful member of the Holy Cross Church in Wendelin, IL Herman was a loving father and loved being a grandfather and a great-grandfather and spending time with his family. Herman and Joan enjoyed many trips vacationing in Branson MO.

    Herman is survived by his wife, Joan Rudolphi of Noble, and his 11 children, Ed of Plainfield, IN, Bob (Theresa) of Newton, Don (Deb) of Newton, Theresa (Jack) Layley of Maryland Heights, MO, Jeff "Herf" of Olney, David (Tammy) of Newton, Tim "Butch" (Lori) of Elberfeld, IN, Pam (Kevin) Ochs of Olney, Scott "Fred" & Michele Walker of Dundas, Brenda (Patrick) Slover of Olney, Todd (Sherrie) of Newton, also 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren.

    Herman was preceded in death by his parents, John & Bertha, a son Keith, a great-grandson Reed, and a step-grandson Nicholas.

    Herman married Klingler, Joan M. on 17 May 1955. Joan (daughter of Klingler, Gus and ?, Leona) was born on 19 Aug 1934 in Clay County, Illinois; died on 22 Nov 2023 in Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, Richland County, Illinois; was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Wendelin, Clay County, Illinois.
