    Helia Healthcare, Olney, Illinois.

    Funeral Services for Otis Earl Greenwood Jr. will be held at Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in

    Otis was born on September 6, 1943, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Otis Earl and Ollie M. (Jennings) Greenwood. Otis married Norma Winchester September 30, 1982, in Marion County, Illinois, and she preceded him in death on August 29, 2019.

    Otis worked hard most of his life, he was a brick and stone mason for several years. He was a chain thrower in the oil fields, built pie safes, and worked for the shoe factory at a younger age. Along with working, Otis enjoyed raising dogs with his wife, Stag Beer, and cars. Otis loved visiting with family and friends and dining at his favorite restaurant Hovey’s Diner in Olney, Illinois. Otis was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Noble, Illinois.

    Otis is survived by:
    Children; Jeffrey (Robin) Greenwood of Forsythe, Missouri, Wanda (Kent) Johnson of Boliver, Missouri,
    Lisa (Jeff Rudolphi) Witt of Noble, Illinois.

    Grandchildren: Stormy (Josh) Patke of Boliver, Missouri, Jacob Johnson of Boliver, Missouri, Ashton (Bo) Dejager of Branson, Missouri, Kaitlin Greenwood (Kyler Chester) of Naples, Florida,
    and Coy Greenwood of Springfield, Missouri.

    Great Grandchildren; Trenton, Isabella, Elijah, Faith, Grayson, Cooper, Ellie, Mia, and Rayden

    Brothers; Steve (Pat) Greenwood of Noble, Illinois, Darrel Greenwood of Olney, Illinois, Rocky (Wanda) Greenwood of Clay City, Illinois, Tommy (Tess) Greenwood of Noble, Illinois.

    Otis was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers; Allen and Stormy, grandchildren; Elisha, Cameron and 3 infants.

    Notes:

    Tragedy struck in the village of Noble at about 8:50 p.m. Thursday, when two Noble High School Students were killed instantly, and three other young people were injured in a car-train collision.

    Killed were David L. Fulk, 16, of Noble a junior, and Stormy W. Greenwood. 16, of Olney Rt. 3, a senior.

    Greenwood was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Greenwood. Greenwood is believed to have been the driver, and Fulk, son of Arthur and Joan Fulk, was apparently riding in the right front seat.

    Injured were Gary Fulk, 12, of Noble, brother of David; Bruce Wells 15, of Noble; and Cary Kosack, 15, of Olney.

    The collision occurred at the first crossing west of the depot in Noble, at a three-track crossing.
