Departed the U.S. on April 5, 1945 bound for the European Theater of Operations. Served in England, France and Germany in non-combat units. Honorably discharged to enlist in the regular army on November 17, 1945 as a Private First Class with Detachment A, Delta Base Section, at Marseilles, France. Earned The American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
