    Eldo Verl Waggoner, 83, 16221 VFW Road, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007 at his home.

    Born August 31, 1924 in Xenia to Riley and Grace (Cunifare) Waggoner, he married Constance May "Connie" Nitros on August 12, 1950 in Pekin. She survives.

    Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Waggoner and Bill Waggoner, both of Pekin; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lloyd, Cecil, and Brian Waggoner.

    A United States Army veteran of World War II, he served from April 19, 1943 to December 9, 1945. He attained the rank of Private First Class and served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was a member of several area veterans groups.

    Eldo worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 38 years, last working as a crane operator in East Peoria.

    He enjoyed hunting.

    Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
