Assigned to and served with Service Company, 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th 'Hitler's Nemesis' Infantry Division, during the occupation of Germany. Earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the Army Of Occupation Medal (German). Honorably discharged as a Technician Fifth Grade on August 21 at the Separation Center, Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
