Ernest Myers Obituary

Ernie Rex Myers, 87, of Evansville, Indiana went to be with his maker, our Lord God Almighty, on September 12, 2023.
Rex was born on May 12, 1936, to the late Orville and Golda (Hill) Myers in Olney, Illinois at the "Old Sanitarium" Jackson Hospital. He was a veteran of the Army and an MP during the Korean War. After returning home, he wanted to join the police department but was too young.

He owned and operated several hotels, motels, and bars over his lifetime. He was an avid hunter. Rex could fix anything, lay concrete, or build anything. He enjoyed watching cowboy movies, John Wayne being his favorite.
Rex is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly; daughters Terry Petty, and Cheryl Myers; step-daughter Julie Ward; granddaughter Heather Borst, Jessica and Emily Ward and grandson Jacob Ward, two great-grandchildren Addison and Colin Borst.

Military rites and service will be on October 6th at 11:00 am at Sunset Cemetery by the lakeside.
