    Notes:

    Charles M. Hosselton was born in Clay county, Illinois, July 18, 1863, and died at his home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, March 2, 1938, aged 74 years, 7 months, and 12 days. He grew to manhood at the Illinois home of his parents and moved to a farm near Vincent in 1915. In 1920 he moved to Eagle Grove. He returned to farm work after some three years, and in 1936 moved back to Eagle Grove which was his home until his death. On Dec. 17, 1885 he was united in marriage with Emma Stanford. Five children were born to this union, Mrs. Cleone Howell, Reeshville, Ind., Mrs. Nellie Blankenship, Springfield, Illinois, Mrs. Minnie Bissey, Clay City, Ill., Wm. Hosselton, Jr., Eagle Grove and Mrs. Dorothy Clawson, Mason City. Mr. and Mrs. Hosselton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Dec. 17, 1935.

    There remain to mourn the loss of a good husband, father, and brother, his wife, the five children, fifteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also, one brother, Ge. Hosselton, Clay City, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Johnson, Montevideo, Minn., Mrs. Laura Smith, Flora, Ill., besides nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Seven sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

    Mr. Hosselton was converted and joined the Methodist church South at Olive Rural church, near Clay City, Ill., in which he had an active part. He was a steward of the church, superintendent of the Sunday School, and taught a class of boys for years. He was a great friend of children. A consistent Christian, he was loved and respected by all who knew him. Young boys learned the way of life from him. Men and women found it easier to make their way in life because of his Christian Character.

    Notes:

    William M. Hosselton was born March 12, 1895, at Clay County, Ill., the son of Charles and Emma Stanford Hosselton.

    He received his education in a Clay County School.

    He was united in marriage to Lorena C. Babcock of Flora, Ill. on Jan. 2, 1916, at Flora, Ill.

    The couple came to Iowa after their marriage, and farmed near Vincent, Webster City, Clarion, and Eagle Grove. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1948.

    Mrs. Hosselton passed away in 1969.

    Mr. Hosselton maintained his home in Eagle Grove for a time, then moved to Arizona for a time. He returned to Eagle Grove, and later to the Belmond Nursing Home where he passed away on March 28, at the age of 80 years and 16 days.

    He is survived by one son, William, Jr., Milwaukee, Wisc.; five daughters: Vivian, Mrs. Steve Trausch, Tuscon, Ariz.; Mrs. Margaret Dahlke, Granger, Washington; Jeanette, Mrs. Jean Cammack, San Antonio, Tex.; Joyce, Mrs. Maurice Chelesvig, Belmond; Mrs. Jacqueline Jahnke, Webster City; two sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Clauson, Mesa, Ariz; and Mrs. Nellie Blankenship, Litchfield, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, one son, Galen, and two grandchildren.

    Mr. Hosselton was a member of the United Methodist Church.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday April 1, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, Rev. Donald Glazier officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
