Gene E. "Bob" Craig, 81, of Olney, died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney with Rev. Sue Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.
Mr. Craig was born December 1, 1926, in Richland County, the son of Ernest Matthew and Katie Ethel (Williamson) Craig. He married Elizabeth Hursta on December 24, 1945, in Olney. She survives.
He was co-owner of Murvin & Craig Drilling Company. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, charter member of American Legion and Elks, and lifetime member of Richland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Mr. Craig is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Craig, of Olney; daughter, Cheryl Jean (Craig) O'Reilly and her husband, Richard, of Olney; son, Robert Keith Craig and his wife, Sherry Dale, of Olney; sisters, Lorraine Leaf, of Olney, and Lucille Kistner, of Olney; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Guy, Dick and Ray Craig; and sister, Virginia Draiper.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois or Immanuel United Methodist Church.
