    • Elicia was born September 8, 1956, in Flora, Illinois, to Grover and Edna (Baker) Turner. She graduated from Flora High School in 1974. After high school, Elicia attended Eastern Illinois University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in teaching. On August 11, 1978, Elicia married Norman Henderson at the Church of the Nazarene in Flora, Illinois. She began her teaching career in 1978 as a Special Education Teacher at Flora High School and continued her passion for 35 years until retirement in 2012.

      Mrs. Henderson greatly impacted the lives of many students throughout the years, and she will always be remembered for the compassion and dedication that she showed her students. In addition to teaching, Elicia worked as Assistant Manager of the Dollar General store in Flora.

      Elicia was a longtime member of the Tau Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Clay County Home Extension, Illinois Retired Teachers’ Association, and enjoyed volunteering at the Clay County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry. She was a devoted member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Flora.

      Elicia loved playing Bunco with her friends and was known by all to be an avid shopper. Most of all, Elicia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
