  She was a retired school teacher. She attended Eastern Illinois College at Charleston. She taught rural schools for nine years. After consolidation, she taught the elementary schools in Dundas, Olney, Central, Silver and Cherry. She taught for 37 years. Her father died in 1933 while they lived on a farm east of Dundas, IL. Later she moved to Olney. She and her mother helped each other, until her mother's death in 1973. She taught school until 1975 and lived alone until 1993 when she married Norman Nease. He died in 2000. She was a previous member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney. She was a member of Retired Teacher's Association, Eastern Illinois Alumni, RMH Auxiliary and Richland County Farm Bureau.
