    • Mrs. Edens Dies at Allerton

      Mrs. Lester Edens, 55 died at 1 p.m. Saturday at her home three and a half miles north of Allerton.
      Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Homer Methodist church. Rev. R. E. Buford officiated. Mrs. Lawrence Rowand played organ music and the Egly sisters sang. Rev. J. E. Long, Sullivan, Ill., assisted Rev. Buford.
      Burial was in GAR cemetery.
      Joetta Johnson was born Dec. 9, 1892, in Kentucky, and came as a child to Clay county. She was married June 21, 1910, and in 1920 Mr. and Mrs. Edens moved to the present farm. She was a member of the Clay City Methodist church.
      Surviving are her husband and six children, Mildred, at home; Mrs. Alberta Ritchey, Hume; Carol at home; Mrs. Norman Newman, Covington, Ind., and Doris and Donald, at home.
      She also leaves a grandson, two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Gray, Olney, and Mrs. Carlie Saunders, Peoria, and an aunt, Mrs. Elsonia Blacklidge, Clay City. She was preceded in death by two triplet sons who died in infancy.
