- Burl Brink, 87, of Flora, formerly of Effingham, died April 11, 2006 at Flora Healthcare Center.
Mr. Brink was born Oct. 14, 1918 in Clay County, IL, the son of Henry W. and Elsie O. Brink. He married Melissa Modean Koontz May 19, 1990 in Flora.
He was a welder and sheet matel fabricator for Blaw-Knox in Mattoon, was a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham.
He loved the outdoors, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife; two step-sons; one step-daughter; six step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and first wife, Eleanor.
Funeral services were held at Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham with burial in Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham with military honors.
