  METABELLE POND, 82 of Geff passed away at 3:07AM Sunday June 10, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Metabelle was born June 18, 1924 at Cisne to Sam and Nettie (Cook) Hillard. She married Merle Duane Pond October 1, 1942 at Cape Girardeau, MO. She was a homemaker and retired after 29 years at Airtex. Metabelle was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church for 44 years and also a member of the Geff Quilters. Surviving Metabelle are her husband Merle Duane Pond; 1 daughter Anita McNeely (& her husband Richard) and 1 son Richard Pond (& his wife Anita Kay) all of Geff, IL; 1 brother Donne Hilliard (& his wife Inez) of Fairfield, IL. Also surviving are 2 grand- daughters Krista and Michelle and 1 great granddaughter Haley. Preceding her in death was 1 son Merle Duane II, 1 granddaughter Kensey, 1 brother Dale, 3 sisters Wanda, Wilma & Lyndall and her parents. Funeral services for Metabelle Pond will be at 1:00PM Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cisne Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
