- Muriel William Cutshall, 93, of Centralia, formerly of Olney, died at 1:25 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.
Mr. Cutshall was born December 27, 1913, in Olney, the son of John Martin and Sarah Elizabeth (Kent) Cutshall. He married Marjorie M. Houchin on December 31, 1934. She survives.
He was a retired carpenter. He lived in Olney for 84 years and moved to Evansville, Ind. in 1997 and to Centralia in 2003. He was a very active member of First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School and serving as Sunday School superintendent for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II in the Asiatic Pacific area.
Mr. Cutshall is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marjorie Cutshall, of Centralia; daughter, Sandra R. VanCleve, of Centralia; grandchildren, Gilbert "Gib" VanCleve and his wife, Cherie, of Ballwin, Mo., Rosemarie (VanCleve) Finley and her husband, Gary, of Kirklin, Ind., Kent VanCleve, of Centralia, and Sarah (Sterchi) Klingler and her husband, Thomas, of Aurora, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Ian and Britton Finley, Charles and Allison VanCleve, and Victoria, Alexis, Jillian and Zachary Klingler; step-grandsons, Greg Sterchi and his wife, Suzanne, and Brad Sterchi; and step-great-grandchildren, Jason, Tara, Bryan and Aaron Sterchi, and Kyle Sterchi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ardith Sterchi; brother, Howard; sister, Blanche Cutshall and Marie Chaplin; niece, Betty (Chaplin) Hamilton; and son-in-law, Charles C. VanCleve.
