Text | In the autumn of the year of 1923 on the 24th day of October, when harvest and fruits were gathered in, Jasper and Mary Gray gathered into their hearts and home in Wayne County, Illinois, a little blue eyed baby girl, Awanda Correna Gray, who passed from this life at the Olney Sanitarium, April 30, 1937 age 13 years, 6 months and 6 days. She had a kind and loving disposition, with her friends, especially her brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn her departure her father and mother, two brothers, Lester and Lynny, two sisters Ruthie and Leona at home and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Gray of Clay City and a host of relatives and friends. Call not back the dear departed Anchored safe where storms are o'er On the borderland we left her Soon to meet and part no more When we leave this world of changes When we leave this world of ours. We hope to find our missing loved one In our father's mansion there. Awanda Correna Gray died April 30, 1937 from tetanus and is buried in the Clay City Cemetary, Clay County, Illinois.
