  Text	Carl, How are you? I don't know how much if at all, you are following the Rottweil-Tuttlingen mailing list we set up last year to discuss genealogy related to that area (including Schwenningen where our mutual JAUCHs come from). But I wanted tto bring your attention to a major correction that was made that I believe affects your line. I believe you trace your line back to Jakob Jauch, b. 2 January 1765. For many years, it has been believed that this Jakob was the son of Jakob Jauch, b. 23 March 1732, and Anna Hauser, b. 15 Dec 1729. But we've recently discovered that the recorder who created the family registry page back in about 1810, *made an error*. This error can be revealed by looking instead at the actual birth, marriage and death records. I can share all the details of how we found all this out (if you want), but the bottom line is this: Jakob Jauch, born 2 Jan 1765, was the son of Jakob Jauch b. 31 Dec 1729 and Anna Hauser b. 15 Dec 1729. So you have the mother correct in your records, but the father is a different Jakob, with a different line going up from him. The Jakob who married Anna Hauser was the son of Christian Jauch (1688-1757) and Maria Birk/Buerk (abt. 1695-1757). Christian Jaucuch was the son of Conrad Jauch (1665-1723) and Maria Lauffer (1665-1708). Conrad Jauch was the son of Christian Jauch (abt. 1629-1676) and Anna Stenge (Abt. 1637-1692) And Christian was the son of Veit Jauch, b. abt. 1610. I would be happy to send you a revised GEDCOM starting with Jakob b. 1765 and working backward if that would help you. I have been in communications with Karl Weiler about this. (He's the one who submitted a great deal of information to the IGI) and he's confirmed my findings with a researcher in Schwenningen. (I'll forward that email to you next message.)
