Text | Mrs. Henry Gray Mrs. Henry (Maude M. Payne) Gray, 87, Clay City, died at 2:40 a.m. on Sunday in Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney. Funeral services were Tuesday morning at the Clay City chapel of the Hosselton-Bookout-Engelmeier Funeral Home, with burial in Clay City Cemetery. Mrs. Gray was born on Dec. 3, 1895, in Indiana to Jackson and Maggie (Mimebaugh) Payne. She married Henry Gray in 1914 in Noble. He preceded her in death in 1968. Mrs. Gray was a member of the Clay City Baptist Church and the Sailor Springs American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Eugene and Raydean, both of Clay City; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Samie)(sic) Payne of Hot Springs, Ark., and Mrs. Vern (Clarabelle) Kittle of Dundas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
